To Make The Most Of Life You Need To Feel And Be ‘Well’

Somehow we have this idea that taking care of our health should be free and someone else’s responsibility and that our doctor, insurance company or someone is there to fix us if we become ill. But our health cannot be left to our doctor or anyone other entity to look after as this is not their job.

The facts are – our doctor only looks after our illnesses. We are told to have regular screening tests and checks but they are to see if we have signs of early disease in the hope that modern medicine can catch them in time and fix them. So really, when our doctor says we are well all this really means is that things have not got so bad that they can find any actual disease symptoms.

It takes many years, sometime decades for a disease to become obvious. As health slowly deteriorates and the life force is sucked away many people just put up with the symptoms. Aches, pains, overweight, sluggish, unhappy, tired and literally dragging oneself through the day does not make for a life full of abundant energy, vitality and happiness.

There is a growing army of people in a poor state of health in our modern inactive and sedentary world with its low quality food and no exercise lifestyles. They are the ‘walking wounded” or the ‘walking unwell’. These people are sick enough that they cannot function adequately but are not sick enough to be confined to a bed.

The diseases that cause this are called ‘lifestyle’ diseases which we give ourselves. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes and dozens of others wait in the wings picking off our fathers, mothers and other family members at epidemic rates. In fact the predictions are that 400 million people will be taken by preventable disease in the next decade.

Yet we do little about it, we continue on our merry way eating low quality food that cannot sustain and nourish us and deny our body the vigorous muscular activity that we must have to remain well and healthy. It is only with this movement that ‘growth and repair’ hormones are released that protect us from disease.

The human body must have an ongoing supply of new, stronger and healthier cells to replace old, worn out damaged ones. Without proper exercise we shunt our body into ‘shut down’ mode as the brain receives messages that tell it that this human has done its work and now it is time to phase it out and make room for others at the trough of life.

It is up to you whether you want to go down this path or not. For most they want to squeeze every bit of enjoyment and potential out of our one and only shot at life as we know it. But to make that happen you have to obey the laws of nature.

These laws are very simple – quality unprocessed foods and proper strength building and maintaining exercise. Just a couple of sessions each week is all that is needed to crank up the ‘youth’ hormones along with ditching the chemically laden foods in pretty boxes and packets. Replace these foods with ‘whole’ foods such as a tomato, a carrot, a piece of grass fed beef or fish from the ocean. Things that do not have a food label as they have not been messed around with by man.

Yes it sounds like work, but you have a choice. Either do this work or be prepared for a life cut short preceded by years of pain, disability and ill health if you are unlucky enough to be one out of every two people on this planet that end up with a nasty disease.

Just these two strategies can turn things around even if health has deteriorated. Lost muscle tissue can be rebuilt; and an abused and over-stretched immune system can be restored to protect health. The human body has the ability to heal itself but it needs the right tools to do this. Proper nutrition and proper exercise are those tools.
