The Top Three Health Villains…

chfitness1People are being robbed of their healthy years and most do not even realize it until the timing is too late.

Chronic disease is a modern health holocaust and accounts for 70% of all deaths. Diseases that are incurable and continue to slowly worsen during a person’s lifetime fall into this category.

But here’s the key: although these particular diseases are considered “incurable” they are still preventable.

For most people, the fear of getting diagnosed with a chronic life threatening illness trumps all other common fears, even the fear of losing a loved one, a job or getting divorced.

Yet, these same people polled about their “fears” are not willing to take any steps towards attempting to change their diet or lifestyle in order to reduce their risk of chronic disease even though the risk of contracting a chronic disease later in life is a definite concern. Their priorities still remain distorted as they continue to spend money on unhealthy food choices and deadly cigarettes rather than investing in a health coach or gym membership or put effort into a proper exercise program.

The “top three” villain’s that everyone needs to be concerned with are: heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

These common diseases are not part of the aging process – they are the result of lifelong lifestyle problems that render the human body a disease magnet. These diseases do not just happen overnight, they take years (sometimes decades) hidden and shouldering away until they reach a point where health issues and symptoms emerge and reveal themselves. It’s a rare family that has not been sadly affected in one way or another by one or more of these deadly diseases.

Cardiovascular disease: This disease alone accounts for a great deal of sorrow and sadness that families experience. When heart attacks strike nearly ½ of those with their first symptoms won’t even reach the hospital before they die.

Cancer: This cruel disease will affect 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women in their lifetimes with about 40 percent of us getting cancer in some form. These sad statistics also reveal that cancer is set to nearly double by the year 2050.

Diabetes: Diabetes causes multiple healthy risks including vision loss, heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, amputation of toes, feet or legs and premature death. The really scary thing with diabetes is that 10 percent of the population already have diabetes and one in four of them are not even aware of it. Thirty-five percent of the population have pre-diabetes where their blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes and again most do not even know it.

These killers are invasive and deadly. They are unseen, silent and extremely proficient and the result of continually violating the basic health principles of:

no exercise lifestyle

subjecting our bodies to poor food choices

combining all this with busy, stressful modern day to day living

If we are one of the “lucky” ones that manages to avoid a dreaded disease we still suffer with low energy and feeling tired, listless, apathetic with no motivation to be active.

Stop and ask your self right now: “What am I doing right now – today – that contributes and ensures my functional fitness for the next 20-30-40 years or more?” If you cannot come up with an answer or you come up with very little then you are obviously living in the “danger zone” with a higher risk of a shortened life.

Make sure when you answer that question that you have an answer for each value:

Your physical health – what kind of exercise and strength training are you giving yourself? What types of food do you subject your body to daily? Do they contribute to your health or rob you of it.

Your emotional health – what kind of mind exercises are you performing to strengthen your resolve?

You need both your mind and body working in tandem to achieve healthy longevity …the kind that will have you dancing into the night far into your senior years.

Don’t wait for the damaging symptoms to finally appear,  “Reclaim Your Longevity”  will prepare you for the rigors of middle age and beyond, so that you can expect to enjoy DECADES more time spent doing the things you love to do, and doing them well.
